Joel Behrman

Raised in the celebrated jazz and blues scene of St. Louis, Joel Behrman has brought that spirit to his performance across many genres. As a member of many touring acts including Sheila E, Phillip Phillips and Pete Escovedo, he has maintained his focus on the great trumpet traditions of Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, and so many others.

Joel has had the honor to play alongside such notables as Jimmy Cobb, Bobby McFerrin, Chris Potter, Ledisi, Robben Ford, Helen Sung, Jazzmeia Horn, and Chester Thompson. His solo release "Steppin' Back" featured his composition skills as well as his performance and was critically acclaimed as an outstanding debut. He continues to write and arrange for future solo releases and current sideman projects.

Most recently, Joel toured and recorded with drumming superstar Sheila E. He's performed at several jazz festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Monterrey Jazz Festival, Playboy Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival, and San Jose Jazz Fest.
